'Gear Talk' With TRIVIUM's PAOLO GREGOLETTO (Video)
May 26, 2014Bassist Paolo Gregoletto of Florida metallers TRIVIUM recently spoke to Berlin Metal TV about his tour gear. You can watch the five-minute chat below.
TRIVIUM was forced to cancel several shows on its recent tour after guitarist/vocalist Matt Heafy "blew out" his voice during the Rock On The Range festival, which was held May 16-18 at the Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. He said: "My doctor's orders are that I need two weeks of rest before resume singing."
TRIVIUM's new album, "Vengeance Falls", made Top 10 chart debuts in Japan, Australia, Germany and Austria as well as a Top 15 debut in Canada and a Top 25 debut in the United Kingdom. This marked the acclaimed metallers' second consecutive Top 15 debut in the U.S. and highest-career debuts around the globe — including a No. 2 debut in Japan.
"Vengeance Falls" sold 17,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The record — which was produced by David Draiman (DISTURBED, DEVICE) — arrived in stores on October 15, 2013 via Roadrunner.
Regarding how the album was received, Paolo told the 99.7 The Blitz radio station: "It seems like it's picking up momentum as it's come out. Since we've come back in the States, we started [touring] with VOLBEAT, like, six or seven weeks ago, it's just been, like, a constant momentum, leading up to [Rock On The Range], and now going into [the Rockstar Energy Drink] Mayhem [festival], we're really just excited that we're reaching so many new people and this is their first experience of us."
TRIVIUM earlier in the month parted ways with drummer Nick Augusto due to personal differences. Stepping in for him on TRIVIUM's recent dates was the band's drum tech, Mat Madiro.
